The Ohio Air Quality Development Authority historically has played a leading role in the promotion of clean air and clean coal use in the state.  That role now has expanded.  Under the Strickland administration, Ohio has joined a growing number of states committed to identifying alternative sources of clean energy.  Toward that end, OAQDA’s Executive Director has been designated Energy Advisor to the Governor.  Accordingly, this section of the OAQDA website presents information on a wide variety of topics related to Ohio’s quest to find alternative, “green” sources of renewable energy.

Energy, Jobs and Progress
for Ohio

Governor Ted Strickland unveiled on August 29 his energy plan that will ensure predictability of affordable energy prices and serve as a catalyst to enhance energy industries in Ohio, bringing new jobs while protecting existing jobs.

The Energy, Jobs and Progress plan will achieve three objectives:

Ensure affordable and stable energy prices to protect Ohio consumers and existing Ohio jobs
Attract energy jobs of the future through an Ohio advanced energy portfolio standard
Safeguard Ohio families by empowering consumers and modernizing Ohio’s energy infrastructure.
