"Green" energy sources

Biomass

Biomass is any renewable organic matter such as energy crops (corn, sugarcane, switch grass), crop waste residues, wood, animal and solid wastes, and aquatic plants that can be used for the production of energy. Biomass resources provide a clean, renewable, sustainable and abundant source of energy. Biomass can even be made into clean burning fuels such as ethanol, methanol, and biodiesel. Technologies to convert biomass to energy cleanly are being developed as an alternative to finite sources of fossil fuels.
