Printing Company Receives State Financing

A printer of paperboard packaging materials received approval for financing assistance through the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority (OAQDA) for equipment that controls air pollution.

Card Pak, Inc. of Cuyahoga County was approved for a $234,000 revenue bond that the company will use to purchase and install a new regenerative thermal oxidizer system. The equipment will be used to eliminate the emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) during the printing process. The oxidizer will be housed in Card Pak’s new 70,000 square foot facility, located in Solon, Ohio.

With the installation of the regenerative thermal system, Card Pak will convert VOCs and other odor causing organic compounds to carbon dioxide and water vapor, eliminating potential harmful emissions into the air. Card Pak specializes in the production of blister cards, clamshell inserts, folding cartons, packaging sheets, header cards and other specialty products.
